About the unit
The NSOAP Unit coordinates implementation of Sierra Leone's National Surgical, Obstetric and Anaesthesia Plan, which sets out how safe surgical, obstetric and anaesthesia care is expanded and sustained.
The unit works across infrastructure, workforce, service delivery, information management and financing to close the gap in access to essential surgery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating national implementation of the NSOAP across hospitals and partners
- Strengthening surgical, obstetric and anaesthesia service readiness at district level
- Tracking surgical volume, access and outcome indicators
- Supporting surgical, obstetric and anaesthesia workforce planning and training
- Mobilising and coordinating partner support for surgical system strengthening
