DHAS commissions new ambulances for district coverage
The Directorate has commissioned additional fully equipped ambulances to strengthen pre-hospital emergency response across the districts.
The Directorate of Hospital and Ambulance Services, under the Ministry of Health, has commissioned additional fully equipped ambulances to strengthen the National Emergency Medical Service.
Each vehicle carries oxygen, suction, resuscitation equipment and a trained crew of emergency medical technicians. The vehicles have been assigned to regional stations to reduce response times in underserved chiefdoms.
The Directorate reminds the public that the 117 emergency line is free from all networks and operates twenty-four hours a day.
